PRINCIPAL'S BIO

David Lynch, founder and principal, has come full circle with the creation of the firm.  He began his career in the commercial architecture and design field in Washington, D.C., and was heavily involved in the industry.  An executive search firm that specialized in the flourishing architecture and design market relied on David as a source for referrals, and in 1985 he joined their operation.

In the design field specific to hospitality, he was on project teams for The Mayflower Hotel, The Four Seasons, The Hay Adams and JW Marriot.

David joined a search firm in 1992 dedicated to the hospitality industry.  In 1995, he accepted an excellent opportunity with an IT consulting firm, heading the SAP recruiting team.  When David Lynch & Co. was created, the markets of hospitality, IT, real estate and design were combined into its portfolio.

With degrees in both the Studio Arts and Art History, David holds a B.A. from the College of William and Mary in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia.

"The Chinese believe that work is a gift and should be done with joy.  I also believe our vocation should be one that when we wake up, we can't wait to get to work.  We should strive to include our passions in our career, but if we can't, at least make time for them.  Career counselors say that what we became lost in as a child, and that which now holds our attention for hours on end, is usually a good indication of the elements that should be in our vocation.  I'm fortunate that I have been able to create a life and career that encompasses those things that I love: connecting and helping people via executive search, the visual arts and travel, which includes the hospitality and culinary industries."
